  • Framtidsboxen

Framtidsboxen trains young social entrepreneurs and give them tools to develop their home towns all over Sweden.

  • Swedish/East African social business programme

A pre-study trip was made to Nairobi, Kenya, in April 2009 regarding the preconditions for setting up a joint East African/Swedish sustainable business management education programme, focused on social entrepreneurship and sustainable businesses. During the trip SE Forum visited plenty of organizations and people and new contacts were made. See the complete list of contacts and  read the full project report here.

  • OUTREACH (2008-2009)

The purpose of the project is to investigate the role of social entrepreneurs and development of sustainable businesses in post-conflict regions so that post-combatants can start business or get employment. Field studies will be conducted to Angola and Kenya. The project is financed by Folke Bernadotte Academy.

  • SE Bar

Since 2006 SE Forum has arranged monthly meetings in Stockholm. The bars hold different speakers related to social entrepreneurs, and have approximately 40 guests. See the complete list of past speakers here

Within SE Forum there is vast competence of business developers, management consultants, CSR-experts, PR-consultants, lawyers, etc. With our large network and contact to philanthropies and social investors we aim to help other social entrepreneurs to succeed. This we do by offering the Social Entrepreneurship Support.

In 2008 SE Forum changed the website www.socialentrepreneurshipforum.org into a live blog by different writers and invited authors offering research and opinions on current topics related to social entrepreneurship. We want to express our gratitude to our web administrator Johan Rutherhagen and board member Samira Aissi for all the efforts they have made when designing, making and launching the SE Forum website.

Past 

  •  Stockholm 2020 conference (2009)

A number of representatives from SE Forum participated at the Stockholm 2020 conference.  Social entrepreneurship ended up as one of the most appreciated and visited topics at the Open Space conference. Members of the Swedish parliament contacted SE Forum after the conference asking for additional information on social entrepreneurship.

  • Emerging India – a snapshot (2008)

SE Forum visited Bangalore to explore challenges in an emerging economy and investigate “Where are the greatest opportunities to do business and do good? How does thousands of years of rich spiritual history effect the way you do business in this big country? Is it natural to incorporate philosophical considerations in business decisions?” The results from the trip was published on the SE Forum blog.

  • Learning Journey: Social Entrepreneurship (2006 – 2007)

SE Forum planned, arranged and conducted the project in cooperation with Pioneers of Change (PoC) in South Africa. Eight members from SE Forum and seven participants from PoC visited social entrepreneurs – individuals, companies and organizations in Johannesburg and Cape Town. In August 2007 the South African PoC-group came to Stockholm to explore social entrepreneurship in Sweden. The exchange program was financed by Forum Syd and results presented in a report and at a large public seminar at “Street” in Stockholm.

  • Think tank: The role of the Private sector in Global Development (2006-2007)

In 2006 SE Forum founded the think tank ”The role of the Private sector in Global Development” in cooperation with the Swedish Institute of International Affairs. The think tank consisted of business leaders from large Swedish corporations such as ABB, H&M and Ericsson, executives from small businesses, researchers and representatives from the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. The think tank arranged ten meetings, wrote articles, gave input to Swedish International Cooperation Agency and arranged a large seminar with key note speaker Kemal Dervis, head of UNDP. The think ended with the OUTREACH project as follow-up.

  • Seminars

“Profit for Change” –  a large seminar at Summit, Stockholm in cooperation with the Knowledge Foundation. Ashoka Europe were key note speaker. Approximately 100 participants. (November 2008)

SE Forum held a large seminar at Street where the results from the Learning Journey were presented and an academic battle was held. (August 2006)

  • Utvecklingsbar (2005)

SE Forum arranged approximately 10 so called “Utvecklingsbarer”, where 30-50 people met once a month and discussed global topics.
